GeraQuest FAQ

Everything you need to know about prompt engineering, scoring, free vs premium, GeraCoins, team competitions, and more.

What is prompt engineering and why does it matter?
Prompt engineering is the skill of writing precise instructions (called "prompts") that guide AI language models — like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini — to produce the output you actually want. A well-engineered prompt can be the difference between an AI giving you a generic paragraph and giving you a production-ready solution. As AI becomes a core tool in every profession, prompt engineering is rapidly becoming as foundational as internet search was in the 2000s. GeraQuest makes learning this skill engaging by framing it as a series of challenges and games rather than abstract theory — you learn by doing, with immediate feedback on every prompt you write.
How does the scoring system work?
Each challenge has a target output — a specific answer, format, or style the AI should produce. When you submit a prompt, GeraQuest sends it to a real AI model and evaluates the response against the target using multiple criteria: accuracy (does the output match the goal?), efficiency (how many tokens did your prompt use?), creativity (did you find a novel approach?), and robustness (does the prompt work with slight variations?). Your score for each challenge is out of 100 and weighted by difficulty level. Your overall profile score is a rolling average across your last 30 challenges. Bonus points are awarded for streak days, first-place finishes, and beating the community average on hard challenges.
Is GeraQuest free to play?
Yes, the core game is free. Free accounts get access to 3 daily challenges, the weekly quiz series, community forums, and the global leaderboard. GeraQuest Premium ($9.99/month or $79/year) unlocks unlimited challenges, the full archive of 500+ past challenges, team competitions, API access, advanced analytics showing your prompt improvement over time, and priority access to new challenge drops. You can also unlock a 7-day Premium trial for free when you complete your first 10 challenges. Many serious prompt engineers play entirely on the free tier — Premium is for those who want to go deeper.
How do I redeem GeraCoins?
GeraCoins earned in GeraQuest are deposited to your Gera account and can be spent across the entire Gera Systems ecosystem. You earn 5 GeraCoins per challenge completed, 25 coins for finishing a weekly quiz series, and up to 100 coins for placing in the top 10 on a competitive leaderboard. To redeem, visit your Gera wallet at gera.services/wallet or within any Gera app at checkout. 100 GeraCoins = $1 in credit. Redemption options include GeraEats deliveries, GeraLearn courses, GeraClinic consultations, GeraRent bookings, and more. Coins expire after 12 months of account inactivity.
When do daily challenges reset?
Daily challenges reset at midnight UTC every day. A new set of three challenges — one beginner, one intermediate, one advanced — is published at that time. Free accounts can access all three daily challenges but cannot replay past challenges once the 24-hour window closes. Premium accounts retain access to the full archive and can replay any challenge at any time. If you miss a day, your streak resets but you do not lose any points or GeraCoins already earned. Challenge difficulty is dynamically calibrated — as the community gets better at a specific challenge type, the difficulty of future challenges in that category increases.
How do leaderboard rankings work?
GeraQuest has three leaderboard tiers: Daily (top 100 players by points scored in the last 24 hours), Weekly (top 500 by cumulative weekly score), and All-Time (based on your lifetime ranking score, which decays slowly over time so active players rise). Rankings update in real time after each challenge submission. Separate leaderboards exist for each difficulty level and category (writing prompts, coding prompts, data analysis, creative tasks, etc.), so you can rank highly in your area of expertise even if you are new to other categories. Premium users see extended leaderboards (top 1000) and filter by country or organization.
Are there team or group competitions?
Yes — Team Competitions are a GeraQuest Premium feature. Organizations, universities, bootcamps, or friend groups can form teams of 2–50 members. Teams compete on weekly challenges where the team's combined score is tallied. A team dashboard shows individual contributions, skill gaps, and improvement trends. Corporate teams can use GeraQuest to run internal AI literacy assessments and training programs. Universities can set up class cohorts with instructor dashboards to monitor student progress. Team subscriptions start at $49/month for up to 10 members. Contact teams@geraquest.com for enterprise pricing.
Is there an API for developers?
Yes. GeraQuest Premium accounts get access to the GeraQuest API, which lets developers programmatically submit prompts to our evaluation engine, retrieve challenge sets, and query leaderboard data. The API is useful for building internal training tools, integrating GeraQuest challenges into coding bootcamp curricula, or automating prompt testing pipelines. The API returns structured JSON with full scoring breakdowns. Rate limits are 1,000 requests per day on Premium (higher limits available for Enterprise). Full API documentation is available at geraquest.com/docs/api. API keys are managed from your account dashboard.
Do I get a certificate for completing courses or challenge series?
Yes. GeraQuest issues verified Certificates of Achievement for completing defined milestones: Prompt Engineering Fundamentals (first 20 challenges), Intermediate Practitioner (50 challenges with an average score above 75), Advanced Specialist (100 challenges with a 85+ average), and the GeraQuest Expert badge (top 5% of players over 30 days). Certificates are PDF documents and shareable URLs — you can add them directly to LinkedIn or your CV. Each certificate has a unique verification code that can be checked on our public verification page. Certificates are recognized by AI-forward companies and bootcamps that partner with Gera Systems.
What languages does GeraQuest support?
The GeraQuest platform interface is available in English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Hindi, Portuguese, Turkish, Armenian, and Russian. Challenge content is primarily in English, as prompt engineering is most widely practiced in English and the underlying AI models perform most reliably in English. However, we are expanding our challenge library to include prompts in Spanish, French, and Arabic, and we have dedicated leaderboards for non-English prompt challenges. If you want to practice prompting in a specific language, you can use the open challenge mode (Premium) to write prompts in any language and evaluate against custom targets you set.
